DIRECTIONS FROM QEW TO JOHN’S GATE

Exit the QEW at 38B for Highway 55 (Niagara Stone Road). Drive to the end of the road where you reach a T-junction and turn left onto York Road (Regional Road 81). Turn right onto Airport Road just past the Automotive Warehouse. Airport Road brings you back to Highway 55 (also known as Niagara Stone Road). Turn right onto Hwy 55 and continue through Virgil. You will pass the new Jackson-Triggs Winery on the right and Shoppers Drug Mart on the left. Then you will come to JOHN STREET on the right-turn bend — turn left onto John Street and cross over Simcoe Street. The next street is Gate Street; John’s Gate B&B is just before Gate Street. Turn left into the gravel driveway immediately before Gate Street. Please park in one of the three signed spots.

DIRECTIONS FROM 190N (LEWISTON BRIDGE) TO JOHN’S GATE BED AND BREAKFAST

From the USA, cross at the Lewiston Bridge onto Highway 405. After roughly 2 miles, take the Stanley Road exit and follow the signs to Niagara-on-the-Lake along Portage Road to the traffic circle, then take the Niagara Parkway. Drive until you pass Kurtz Orchards on your left side. The first left after Kurtz Orchards is John Street (landmark: River Bend Inn). Turn left onto John Street and continue to Gate Street. Cross Gate Street and turn right onto the gravel driveway just before Gate Street. Park in one of the three spots.

If you take the Fort Erie bridge along the QEW: from 190N take the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie. Exit at 38 for Highway 55 (Niagara Stone Road). At the first light, turn right onto Airport Road at the Automotive Warehouse. Airport Road returns you to Hwy. 55. Drive through Virgil; at the right-hand bend turn left onto JOHN STREET. Cross Simcoe Street; the next street is Gate Street. Turn left into the gravel driveway just before Gate Street.

DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO AIRPORT TO JOHN’S GATE

There are three terminals at Pearson. The roads direct you by north/south rather than by destination, so it’s important to get into the correct lanes early; sometimes the right-hand lane must turn right at junctions to stay on the highway.

From the airport follow signs for 401 South & West, then 401 West. After about ten minutes follow signs for Hamilton & QEW (forking right). The road to Niagara is called the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW). Continue for ~20 minutes, staying with the QEW toward Niagara (left-side split). About 20 km later, bear left again to remain on QEW Niagara. Take Exit 38B for Highway 55 and follow the same final approach as above: left onto York Road, right onto Airport Road to Hwy 55, then left onto John Street, cross Simcoe Street, and turn left into the gravel driveway just before Gate Street.

Please park on site. Three signed guest spots are available immediately off the driveway.
